The Fineprint

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 17, 2026

Broadsignal (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website [website.com] and any related applications or services (collectively, the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our Service. This is a temporary policy. As a pre-seed startup, we are actively developing our data practices. We will update this policy and seek proper legal review as we grow.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, email address, company name, and any other details you provide when signing up, requesting a demo, or contacting support.
  • Any content you upload, post, or transmit through the Service.

Information automatically collected:

  • Usage data: How you interact with our Service (e.g., clicks, page views, feature usage).
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referral URLs.
  • Cookies & tracking: We may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and analyze usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

Information from third parties:

  • If you sign up via a third-party platform (e.g., Google, GitHub, LinkedIn), we may receive your basic profile information (name, email) from that platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Broadsignal.
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support issues.
  • Monitor usage patterns and fix technical problems.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, or security risks.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

  • Service providers: With vendors who help us run the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery). They are contractually bound to use data only for our instructions.
  • Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or government request.
  • Business changes: If we are acquired, merge, or restructure, your data may be transferred to the new owner.
  • With your consent: For any other purpose you explicitly approve.

4. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, California, etc.), you may have rights including:

  • Accessing, correcting, or deleting your personal data.
  • Objecting to or restricting certain processing.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdrawing consent (where we rely on consent).

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. But no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. As a pre-seed startup, we may not yet have enterprise-grade security. You use the Service at your own risk.

If a data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service to you.
  • Fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
  • Comply with legal or tax obligations (e.g., invoice records).

When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize the data.

7. Data Protection & Retention (Dashboard)

How We Protect Your Dashboard Data
All data transmitted between your browser and the Broadsignal dashboard is encrypted using TLS 1.3 (or the highest standard supported by your device). Dashboard data at rest is stored on encrypted volumes with strict access controls. Only personnel who need to see your data to provide support or maintain the service can access it — and all access is logged and audited.

We never store your brokerage credentials. When you connect a brokerage account, authentication tokens are passed directly to our service provider in an encrypted form and are never readable by Broadsignal employees.

Retention Period
We retain your personal data and portfolio information only as long as your Broadsignal account remains active, or as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. Within 30 days of account termination or a verified deletion request, we permanently delete or anonymize all portfolio holdings, transaction histories, dashboard configurations, contact information, and login credentials.

After account closure, we may retain anonymized, non‑identifiable analytics (such as aggregated usage statistics) that cannot be linked back to any individual.

Legal & Regulatory Exceptions
If required by law or a binding regulatory obligation (for example, a valid subpoena or financial record‑keeping requirement), we will retain only the data strictly necessary and for the shortest time allowed by law. In such cases, we take reasonable steps to limit access and protect that data against further processing.

Your Control
You can request immediate deletion of your dashboard data at any time by emailing our support team. We will confirm the request and complete the deletion within the time frame required by applicable data‑protection law.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

If you use Broadsignal from outside [Your Home Country – e.g., the United States], your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in [Your Home Country] where our servers and central database are located. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Broadsignal evolves. For minor updates, we will post the new policy on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service.

You are responsible for periodically reviewing this policy. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@broadsignal.io if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service (e.g., through viruses, bots, or denial‑of‑service attacks).
  • Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data you do not have permission to use.
  • Using the Service to transmit illegal, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Reverse engineering, copying, or reselling any part of the Service without our permission.

4. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service (including software, design, text, graphics, and logos) are owned by Broadsignal or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable right to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal purposes. Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about Broadsignal are entirely voluntary, and we may use them without any obligation to you.

5. Third‑Party Links & Services

The Service may contain links to third‑party websites or integrations with external services (e.g., payment processors, analytics tools). We do not control or endorse those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.

6. Payment & Subscriptions (if applicable)

If Broadsignal offers paid plans or subscriptions, you agree to pay all fees specified at the time of purchase. Fees are non‑refundable unless otherwise required by law. We may change our pricing with reasonable notice. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your payments.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms other users or us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, and we may delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BROADSIGNAL DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR‑FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. AS A PRE‑SEED STARTUP, WE MAY NOT YET HAVE ENTERPRISE‑LEVEL RELIABILITY OR SUPPORT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BROADSIGNAL AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO THIS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Broadsignal and its personnel harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third‑party rights.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Canada. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer in the EU or another jurisdiction that requires arbitration or specific dispute resolution, that requirement will apply instead. We encourage you to contact us first at legal@broadsignal.io to resolve any dispute informally.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. For minor changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new Effective Date. For material changes (e.g., changes to your rights or fees), we will notify you by email or through the Service. By continuing to use Broadsignal after changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.

13. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Broadsignal regarding your use of the Service.

Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Broadsignal (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website [website.com] and related services (the “Service”). This is a temporary policy. As a pre-seed startup, we will update it and seek legal review as we grow.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They help the website remember your actions and preferences (like login or language) over a period of time. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: These are necessary for the Service to function. They enable basic features like page navigation, secure access to your account, and load balancing. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.
  • Preference cookies: These remember your settings, such as language or display preferences, so you don’t have to set them every time.
  • Analytics cookies: These help us understand how visitors use our Service (e.g., which pages are visited, how long users stay). We use this data to improve Broadsignal. We may use tools like Google Analytics or similar.
  • Marketing cookies: We do not currently run targeted advertising. If we do in the future, we will update this policy and give you control over marketing cookies.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our Service come from third-party providers. For example, our hosting provider or analytics tool may set their own cookies. We do not control those third parties, and their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies. We currently use only essential and analytics providers, but as a startup, our tools may change.

4. Your Choices & How to Control Cookies

You can manage cookies in several ways:

  • Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Look for “privacy”, “clear browsing data”, or “cookie settings”. Blocking certain cookies may break parts of our Service.
  • Cookie consent banner: On your first visit to our site, you may see a banner asking for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can accept or reject analytics/preference cookies there.
  • Opt-out tools: For analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics), you can install a browser add-on to opt out. Visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service. Please review this policy periodically.

6. Contact Us

Site Accessibility

Broadsignal (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to making our website and services accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This Accessibility Page outlines our efforts and temporary commitments as a pre-seed startup.

1. Our Commitment

We strive to ensure that people with disabilities have equal access to information and functionality on our website Broadsignal.io and related services (the “Service”). We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which are internationally recognized standards for accessibility.

Because we are a pre-seed startup with limited resources, we may not yet meet all WCAG standards. We are actively learning and improving as we grow. This page will be updated as we make progress.

2. Current Accessibility Features (as of March 17, 2026)

  • We use semantic HTML where possible to support screen readers.
  • Our text content uses clear, plain language.
  • Forms include visible labels and basic keyboard navigation.
  • We avoid relying solely on color to convey information.
  • Our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Cookie Policy are provided in simple, readable text.

3. Areas for Improvement & Roadmap

We are working to address the following accessibility gaps:

  • Adding descriptive alt text to all non-decorative images.
  • Ensuring full keyboard accessibility for all interactive elements.
  • Improving color contrast ratios.
  • Providing captions or transcripts for video content (if any).
  • Testing with assistive technologies (screen readers, voice control).

4. Known Limitations & Alternative Access

If you encounter any accessibility issue on our Service, please contact us. We will do our best to provide the information or service you need through alternative means (e.g., email, phone, or a personal consultation). As a small startup, our response may take longer than larger organizations, but we are committed to assisting you.

5. Third-Party Content

Our Service may include links to third-party websites or tools (e.g., payment processors, analytics providers). We do not control the accessibility of those external sites. If you experience issues with a third party, please contact them directly. We will consider their accessibility when choosing partners as we scale.

6. Feedback & Reporting Issues

We welcome your feedback on accessibility. If you have trouble using any part of our Service, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please let us know. You can reach our accessibility contact (currently our founding team) at:

  • Email: dev@broadsignal.io
  • Subject line: “Accessibility request” or “Accessibility issue”
  • Include: Your name, a description of the problem, the webpage or feature you were using, and any assistive technology you were using (if applicable).

7. Legal Framework

Depending on your location (e.g., United States, European Union, Canada), you may have legal rights regarding digital accessibility. Broadsignal is committed to complying with applicable laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) where required and similar local regulations. This policy is a good-faith effort to meet those obligations as a pre-seed startup.

8. Changes to This Accessibility Page

We will update this page as we improve our accessibility features. Changes will be posted with a new effective date. For significant improvements, we may notify users through the Service or email.
